Yungeberg Breaking Records at Michigan

Former Valley Heights Mustang Emma Yungeberg is setting records for the University of Michigan's track and field in only her sophomore season. 

Emma set the program record multiple times this season in the javelin throw and did it again May 23rd with a throw of 51.35m. 

She placed second at the Big Ten Championships in early May which at the time was a career-best throw and program record of 50.89m. 

During her senior season at Valley Heights in 2022, Emma swept the Class 2A titles in the javelin, shot put, and discus. She finished that season ranked #3 in the javelin among Kansas high schools and 24th nationally. 

She also had State Titles in the javelin and shot put in 2021 and finished that season #4 in the javelin among Kansas high schools and 13th nationally.
