Schletzbaum Earns Regional Wrestler of the Year

ACCHS senior Easton Schletzbaum captured the regional championship at 157 pounds at Council Grove to lock up his spot at the upcoming state tournament.

He won his quarterfinal match by pinfall in 35 seconds, he won his semifinal match by tech fall (16-0), and he won the title match by majority decision (10-1).

Easton is a 4x regional champion and 2x state runner-up finisher. He’s the #1 ranked wrestler at 157 for the classification and the #4 ranked wrestler in the weight class among all classifications.

This season his record is 29-5 and for his career he has a record of 140-17.

Easton is committed to wrester collegiately at #1 ranked Division-II St. Cloud State University in Minnesota.

This is the second time in his high school career that Easton has earned an MSC Radio Athlete of the Week honor.
