Banks with 19-point outing to lead Chargers to win at Jackson Heights

Horton sophomore Marlysa Banks continued her strong season on Friday in a 54-33 win at Jackson Heights.

Marlysa scored a game-high 19 points while adding four rebounds, three assists, and no turnovers.

She leads the Chargers averaging nearly 14 points per game and she also had a game earlier in the season at Hiawatha where she dropped 25 points.

For the season, Marlysa is a near 80% free throw shooter along with a 50% shooter from the three-point line.

The Horton coaching staff acknowledges Marlysa’s grit and determination, and they believe she is one of the clear leaders on the team.

The Chargers have won back-to-back games and three of their last four games since starting the season 0-2.
