Whetstine Scorching Hot to Start Season for Troy Basketball Team

Troy’s Harper Whetstine has been on a tear in the early portions of the basketball season for the undefeated Trojans.

Last week she posted monster numbers in wins over Jackson Heights and Riverside. Against Jackson Heights, Harper scored 35 points, hitting six three’s, tallying eight steals, five rebounds, and three assists.

Against Riverside, Harper scored 32 points in three quarters, adding six rebounds, five steals, and four assists. In the season opener against Hiawatha the week prior, Harper dropped 29 points.

Harper got all-league and all-state honors last season and she broke the school record for three-point percentage during her freshman season.
