Lawrence Gets Third Win at Rossville

Nakita Lawrence of the Sabetha girls’ wrestling team has been on a tear so far this season. She has already won three tournaments this year in the 140-weight class.

The junior is coming off a victory in Rossville where she won all four of her matches by pinfall.

Nakita tore it up at the ACCHS Girls Invitational this past December winning all of those by pinfall as well.

Last year, she placed sixth at state in Salina as a sophomore and won her regional championship.

Head coach Trenton Cox said, "Nakita has really developed into quite the leader on our girls team. She has a tremendous amount of heart and gives her all when it comes to wrestling. She is a wonderful person to be around, and other girls look up to her on the team."
