Broxterman Helps Propel Axtell back to 8M-II State Title Game

Axtell’s Eli Broxterman has helped the Eagles get back to their third straight 8M-II State Championship game.

The Eagles beat Frankfort in the Sub-State round 52-6 this past week and Eli posted another strong game. He finished with seven receptions for 101 yards and added five carries for 16 yards and a touchdown.

Broxterman is Axtell’s leading receiver this season with 32 receptions for 518 yards and 10 touchdowns. He’s also the second leading rusher on the team with 34 carries for 602 yards and 13 touchdowns. On the ground, Eli is averaging a whopping 17.7 yards per carry.

On defense, he’s added 40 total tackles including two sacks.

Axtell will face South Central on Saturday in the 8M-II State Championship game in Newton at 3:30 PM looking for their third straight State Championship.
