Bauman's Offense Helps Bluejays Get Back to State Tournament

The Sabetha baseball team returns to the Class 3A State Tournament this week in Manhattan.

Marcus Bauman played lights out ball in the Regional Tournament to help the Big 7 league champs get back to state.

The Bluejays won regional games over Riley County, Rossville and Nemaha Central. During that stretch, Marcus had a .545 batting average with three doubles and four runs scored.

Marcus got the win on the mound in the first game of the tournament against Riley County and has a 3-0 record in 16 innings pitched with a 3.06 ERA this season.

Sabetha is the 5-seed in Manhattan with a record of 19-4 and they will face 4-seed and defending state champs Wichita Collegiate on Thursday night at 5:45 PM in the first round.
