Lukert Posts Near Triple-Double at Burlington Tournament

The Sabetha girls basketball team bounced back this weekend with a fifth place finish at the Burlington Invitational.

Mary Lukert led the way for the Bluejays in their 2-1 run at the mid-season tournament as she averaged 19 points, eight rebounds, four steals and three assists per game.

In Friday’s Semi-Final win over Paola, Mary finished one steal short of a triple double. She finished the game with 17 points, 10 rebounds and nine steals.

In Saturday’s third place win over Labette County, Mary torched the Grizzlies for 27 points, including five threes, with eight rebounds.

Mary is a returning starter for the Bluejays and All-League player from last season. Sabetha’s record 7-5 post tournament and they’ve won four of their last five games.

Mary’s season stats are All-League caliber once again as she’s averaging nearly 16 points, five rebounds, four steals and four assists per game.
