King Captures State Title for Oskaloosa
Oskaloosa junior Allison King capped off an incredible season by capturing the Class 4-1A 155-pound State Championship last week in Salina.
Allison was a perfect 4-0 in the tournament with her first three wins coming by decision and then pinning her opponent late in the Championship match to claim the title.
Allison placed first in five of the six tournaments she participated in this season and her lone loss was to a wrestler out of Missouri as her record finished at 29-1.
Allison’s teammate Holly Thacher also captured a State Title at 101 pounds and those two alone gave Oskaloosa a sixth-place team finish.
Allison was also runner-up at State last season and her overall record at Oskaloosa after this season is 65-8.
