Harris Scores 25 to Lead Atchison to 18-point Win

It has been a wild start to the 2020-21 season for the Atchison girls basketball team with just a pair of games played so far, but the Lady Red got a big kick in the right direction last week spearheaded by the strong play of senior Katy Harris.

Atchison picked up a game late on Tuesday against Pleasant Ridge and rolled to an 18-point win with Harris dominating on the inside scoring 25 points while pulling down double-digit rebounds.

It was her second double-digit outing of the year in just the Lady Red’s second game as she scored 17 points in Atchison’s opening season loss to Tonganoxie.

Harris was named a Kansas City-Atchison all-league performer a year ago and will look to continue to lead the Lady Red who have two games this week beginning Wednesday on the road at KC Schlagle.
