JCN Junior Josie Weishaar Leads Chargers to 2-0 Week with Career-High

Heading into the 2018-19 high school basketball Jefferson County North head girls’ coach Steve Noll knew that he was going to have to have some girls step up in order for it to be another successful season in Winchester.

So far this season he has gotten just that and some, as junior Josie Weishaar has led the Chargers off to a 3-0 start to the year.

Last week the Chargers went 2-0 with wins over Oskaloosa and McLouth with Weishaar delivering two of the better back-to-back games you’ll see at the varsity level.

In Tuesdays 62-27 win over Oskaloosa, Weishaar finished with 20 points, five rebounds and six assists while knocking down three 3-pointers.

She followed that up with the best game of her career, pouring in a career-high 31 points on five 3-pointers while adding six rebounds and three assists in the Chargers’ 59-31 win over McLouth.

On the season she is averaging a staggering 25 points per game and shooting over 40 percent from beyond the arc.

Weishaar and the Chargers will look to continue their hot start to the season this week, as JCN travels to ACCHS Tuesday night before hosting Horton on Friday.
