Detweiler Rushes Axtell to Sub-State Championship Game

Axtell quarterback Wyatt Detweiler helped the Eagles get one step closer to another state title this past week in their sectional round win against Frankfort. 

Wyatt carried the ball just nine times for 204 yards and five touchdowns while also completing 9-of-12 passes for 159 yards. 

He's put together a dynamite season completing 87-of-108 (80.5%) passes for 1,355 yards with 21 touchdowns and no interceptions. He's by far and away the team's leading rusher with 86 carries for 750 yards with 21 more touchdowns. 

Let's not forget on defense Wyatt has posted 57 tackles and three interceptions while also adding two kickoff return touchdowns this season. 

The Eagles are two wins away from their fifth straight state championship and will get a rematch against #1 ranked Hanover this week in the sub-state championship game.
