Snyder promises change as K-State tries to rebound

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) - Kansas State coach Bill Snyder said Tuesday that he plans to use quarterback Daniel Sams more after the sophomore sat for most of the Wildcats' loss to North Dakota State last week.

Snyder said that Sams had a "great practice" on Monday and deserves to be on the field when Kansas State tries to bounce back on Saturday night against Louisiana-Lafayette.

Sams was in a race with junior college transfer Jake Waters to be the starter most of fall camp. He was beaten out by Waters, who played nearly all the snaps against the Bison.

Waters threw for 280 yards and two touchdowns, but he was also intercepted twice. Sams only played a couple of downs, though he did run 17 yards for a touchdown.
