Johnson-Brock Graduate Named MCAC Volleyball Player of Year
The 23rd ranked Bellevue University volleyball team will host Ottawa University Saturday in the NAIA Volleyball National Championship opening round. The match is scheduled for 1 p-m at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center at Bellevue University.
Bellevue University is led by senior Jordan Broady, a Johnson-Brock High School graduate who was recently named the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year. Broady is a 4-time all-MCAC selection and ranks second in school history with 5,796 career assists and 8th with 136 service aces. Broady is currently 3rd nationally with 1,494 assists this season. The Bruins offense ranks first nationally with 2,101 kills.
Broady has been named the MCAS Setter of the Week eight times this season. She currently ranks third in matches played at the school.
The Bruins defeated Ottawa 3-1 in September at the Baker Invitational. This is the 6th straight year the Bruins have qualified for the NAIA Volleyball National Championship tournament. The winner of the Saturday match will advance to the 24-team NAIA final site in Sioux City, Iowa on November 27th – December 1st. The Bruins are 34-9 on the season.
