NCKL Teams Dominate Sabetha Volleyball Invite

Ten teams total were on hand for the Sabetha Invitatational Volleyball Tournament Saturday and for many it was the final tune-up for Sub-State play.  It was a pair of teams from the NCKL that had the best day as Wamego beat Concordia for the championship 25-17 and 25-16.  Wamego had earlier beaten Concordia in three sets during pool play, and the Red Raiders also need three games to get by Wichita Heights, who finished third with a 2-2 record in pool play and did not advance to the semifinals. 

In the other pool, it was five local schools competiting and another NCKL team, Marysville, emerged with a perfect 4-0 record.  The Lady Bulldogs won an intense lenghty match against Nemaha Valley 28-26, 20-25 and 29-27 and also went the distance against Holton, who finished third in the pool after also losing a three set match against Nemaha Valley.  The Lady Raiders would finish third overall on the day after losing their semifinal, NV bounced back to defeat Wamego 25-21 and 25-21.
