Highland Volleyball Starts Season With Win Over Cloud County
The college volleyball season has started for the lady Scotties of Highland Community College as they played host to the Thunderbirds of Cloud County last night. With a roster that features six Kanzaland area athletes of the 13 members on the team, the Scotties notched a five set victory to start the season.
Highland and Cloud County traded points and sets back and forth early, as Cloud took the first set 25-14, but Highland responded with a 25-20 win in set number two. With the sets tied the Thunderbirds came out on top in the third set 25-18 and put themselves one set away form the win. Highland definitely want to go away quietly and took set four 25-20 to force an five and final set.
In the fifth set it was a tight game but ultimately the Scotties pulled out the win 15-9 to start the season off with the win. Highland is now 1-0 on the season and 1-0 in conference play.
