Silver Lake Softball Secures Spot in 3A State Tournament

The Silver Lake softball team advanced to the upcoming 3A State Tournament after winning a regional title on Wednesday night at home. 

It started earlier in the week with a 6-0 win over Holton in the first round, and they followed that on Wednesday with a 6-0 win over Perry-Lecompton and a 12-2 win over Hiawatha in the title game. 

Potential redemption time for the Eagles as last year they made a run all the way to the state championship game, but came up short with a 2-1 loss against Frontenac. They finished that season at 25-7 which included a Big East league title. 

The Eagles won the Big East again this season with a 18-2 mark, and will enter the state tournament next week with an overall record of 25-4.
