Silver Lake Softball Secures Second Straight Big East League Title

The Silver Lake softball team secured their second straight Big East League title on Thursday afternoon with a sweep over Sabetha 8-2 and 8-3. 

The Eagles finished league play this season at 18-2 with their lone losses against Holton and Rossville. 

Silver Lake finishes the regular season at 22-4 overall with the other two losses coming against Wamego on April 28. 

Last year, the Eagles went 19-1 to win the league, went 25-7 overall, and finished second place at the 3A State Tournament. 

The Eagles will be the number two seed in their regional tournament as they will host a first round game on May 19.
