Top 10 Moments of 2025: #2 - Holly Thacher Becomes Kansas Wrestling Elite with Historic Fourth Crown

Oskaloosa’s Holly Thacher accomplished a rare and historic feat in Kansas wrestling in 2025, cementing her place among the state’s elite athletes. At the 3-2-1A State Tournament, Thacher captured her fourth consecutive state title at 120 pounds, a milestone achieved by very few wrestlers in the state’s history.

She dominated every match of the tournament, winning her first two bouts by first-round pins in under a minute, cruising through the semifinals with a 15–0 technical fall, and sealing her historic four-peat with a 10–2 majority decision in the championship match.

Thacher finished her senior season with an outstanding 32–2 record, bringing her career mark to 118–9. Beyond the numbers, her consistency, determination, and dominance on the mat make her one of the most decorated athletes in Oskaloosa history.

Holly Thacher’s remarkable achievement is a highlight not just for her school, but for Kansas wrestling, and it stands as one of the top sports moments of 2025.
