Silver Lake Girls Win Burlington Tournament

The Silver Lake girls basketball team won the Burlington Invitational Tournament on Saturday defeating Labette County 70-60.

The Eagles dominated Ottawa in the quarterfinals 69-38 and then won a close game against Girard in the semifinals 50-48. 

The field was loaded this season as Girard is the #4 ranked team in Class 3A while Labette County is the #6 ranked team in Class 4A. 

Silver Lake, the defending 3A state champs, is currently ranked #3. 

The Eagles are 8-1 on the season with a six-game winning streak. Their only loss was against #2 1A-I Centralia in December.
