Centralia Volleyball Opens Season with Second Place Finish at Wabaunsee

The Centralia volleyball team opened the 2024 season on Saturday with a second place finish at the Wabaunsee Tournament. 

The Panthers went 4-1 overall with their lone loss coming against Rock Creek in straight sets in the championship match.

They dropped only one set in pool play with straight set wins over Mission Valley and NEK while beating Sacred Heart in three sets. 

In the semifinals they would defeat Axtell in straight sets. Axtell would finish the weekend at 2-3 overall and finishing in fourth place. 

They went 2-1 in pool play with wins over Wabaunsee and Heritage Christian along with a loss against tournament champion Rock Creek. 

They would ultimately fall in three sets to Mission Valley in the consolation match.
