Day 2 State Golf Tournament Results: Sabetha Finishes Second in 3A and Onaga Sixth in 1A

Day two of the State Golf Tournaments wrapped up on Tuesday afternoon with 4A in McPherson, 3A in Emporia, 2A in Dodge City, and 1A in Hesston. 

Class 4A: Wamego won the State Title with a two-day team score of 589 followed by McPherson (629) and Circle (630). Blaise Hoover of McPherson won the individual title with a two-day score 139 which included a one-under 69 on day one. Holton's Korben Fox shot an 83 on day one and was five spots out of making it to the second day. 

Class 3A: Sabetha finished in second place as a team with a two-day score of 643 which was eight strokes off first place Hesston. Wichita Collegiate would finish the tournament in third place with a two-day score of 650. Lunden Esterlin of Wichita Collegiate won the individual title with a two-day score 140 which included a four-under 67 on Monday. The Bluejays were led by Cole Grimes who shot a 75 on Monday and 78 on Tuesday which was good for a tie for fifth place. Roman Scoby tied for 18th place with two-day score of 160 which included a 77 on day one. Dalton Rokey finished inside the top 30 shooting an 84 on Monday and 82 on Tuesday. 

Class 2A: Salina Sacred Heart took home the team title with a two-day score 612 followed by Ellinwood (669) in second place and Cair Paravel (682) in third place. Drew Heinz of Ellinwood was the individual champion with a two-day score of 140 which included a five-under 66 on day one. Jayden DeWalt of Valley Heights posted a ninth place finish with an 81 on Monday and 79 on Tuesday. Maur Hill-Mount Academy was led by Luke Siebert who shot an 80 on Monday and 85 on Tuesday which was good for 13th place. 

Class 1A: South Gray won the team title with a two-day score of 610 followed by Hutch Central Christian (667) in second place and Elkhart (683) in third place. Gavin Wahl won the individual title for South Gray with a 70 on day one and 75 on day two. Onaga finished in sixth place as a team with a score of 737 and they were led by Graham Valburg who finished 25th with a two-day score of 172 which included an 82 on Monday. Paxton Bowers of Centralia finished in 21st place with a two-day score 168 which included an 80 on Tuesday. Washington County had two in the top 25 with Grayson Votipka (170) and Carson Kearn (171).
