Holton Volleyball Season Ends in Pool Play Round at 4A State Tournament

The Holton volleyball team had their 2023 season come to an end in the pool play round of the Class 4A State Tournament in Hutchinson on Friday. 

The Wildcats went 1-2 in pool play with losses to Circle and McPherson but picked up a win in their final match over Louisburg. 

Circle won the first matchup 25-19, 25-10 with McPherson winning the second matchup 25-20, 25-15. 

Holton and Louisburg played a wild first set in the final matchup of the evening with Louisburg pulling out the 31-29 set one win. Holton would battle back and win the next two sets 25-22 and 25-19. 

The semifinal matchups in 4A will feature Bishop Miege vs. Louisburg and Andale vs. McPherson. Those will be played on Saturday beginning at 1:00 PM. 

Holton finishes their season with a record of 26-17 with a third place finish in the Big 7 behind Nemaha Central and Perry-Lecompton.
