Thunder volleyball win home invitational for first tournament win of the season

The Nemaha Central volleyball continued their strong 2023 season as they won their home invitational on Saturday.

The Thunder got out of pool play with a record of 3-1. They defeated Hiawatha, ACCHS, and Maranatha but lost to Rock Creek.

They defeated Marysville in straight sets in the semifinals and would go on to beat NEK 25-18, 20-25, 25-20 in the championship match.

The Thunder are now 14-2 overall and they also have a second place tournament finish on the record this season at Marysville back in late August.

Hiawatha and Sabetha both finished the tournament 2-2 and were unable to make it out of pool play. The Redhawks got wins over ACCHS and Maranatha while the Bluejays picked up a couple of wins over Atchison and Horton.

Horton finished pool play 1-3 while both ACCHS and Atchison finished the tournament with 0-4 records.
