Jefferson West girls golf wins West Franklin tournament

The Jefferson West girls golf team won the West Franklin tournament on Wednesday afternoon with a team score of 189. 

"I am happy with the overall progress," said Tigers head coach Darin Lawhorn after the tournament. 

The Tigers were led by the tournament champion in Taylor Rowe who shot a 43. 

Also medaling for Jefferson West were Sydney Thompson, Kinley Stones, Addy Vanzandt, and Ella Dickey. 

It was a big improvement from last season at the same tournament where the Tigers shot a team score of 212. 

"That's a nice jump and it reflects the hard work these young lady's put in this summer."

Lawhorn adds: "We have high goals so it's a step in the right direction but I know they are going to continue to work hard and get better."
