Hiawatha volleyball wins tournament at Jefferson West

The Hiawatha Redhawks volleyball team won the Jefferson West Invitational Tournament on Saturday. 

Despite going 2-2 in pool play, the Redhawks beat Royal Valley in three sets in the semifinal then defeated Jefferson West in three sets in the championship 22-25, 25-20, 25-23. 

The Tigers went a perfect 4-0 in pool play before beating Santa Fe Trail in the semifinal before losing to Hiawatha in the title match. 

Royal Valley finished in third place and they defeated Santa Fe Trail in their final match 25-19, 25-22. 

Valley Falls finished in fifth place with a 1-3 record in pool play. The one win for the Dragons was against Hiawatha 25-27, 25-23, 25-19.
