Axtell Boys Heading to 1A-II State Tournament
The Axtell boys basketball team is heading to the Class 1A-II State Basketball Tournament in Great Bend.
The Eagles defeated Hanover 56-52 in the Sub-State Championship game on Saturday night.
It's been an incredible sports season for Axtell as most of the players on the roster played on the football team that won their second consecutive State Championship this past fall.
The Eagles will head to Great Bend with a 20-4 record and they will be the 2-seed and face 7-seed Bucklin in the first round on Thursday, March 9th at 6:00 PM.
