Kansas State's Season Ends with Sugar Bowl Loss to Alabama

9th ranked Kansas State had their season come to an end on Saturday in New Orleans with a 45-20 loss to #5 Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. 

The Wildcats (10-4) jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter but that was about it for K-State as Alabama would dominate the rest of the game. 

Alabama (11-2) flipped the momentum late in the first quarter and would lead 21-10 at halftime after a 98-yard touchdown drive in the final minute of the second quarter. 

They would outscore the Cats 21-3 in the third quarter as K-State couldn't find many answers. 

K-State quarterback Will Howard threw for 210 yards and two interceptions while running back Deuce Vaughn finished with 22 carries and 133 yards and a touchdown. 

Vaughn had an 88-yard touchdown run in the first quarter which was the longest run surrendered by Alabama in 20 years. 

It was an incredible season for K-State winning 10 games, winning the Big 12 and making a New Years Six Bowl. 

Head coach Chris Klieman has his best recruiting class coming in 2023 and they will look to continue a program that's in a good spot moving forward.
