Top 10 Moments of 2022: No. 5 - Troy Softball Posts Best Season in School History

The Troy softball team enjoyed their best season in school history in 2022 as they finished runner-up in the 2-1A State Tournament.

The softball team became the first ever girl’s team in Troy history to advance to a team championship game in any sport.

They would dominate through the regular season and regional tournament and head to the State Tournament with an undefeated record.

They would beat Central Heights 3-2 in eight innings in the Semi-Finals to advance to the Title game but would go on to lose to Mission Valley in the Championship 6-4.

Troy would dominate the All-State teams released by the Kansas Softball Coaches Association. Pitcher Paityn Engemann and outfielder Reagan Hill were named First Team All-State. Infielders Avery Euler and Claire Winder were named Second Team All-State while Paige Hinds was named Honorable Mention.

The Trojans completed their best season ever with a record of 23-1.
