HCC Head Football Coach Jared Powers Dies Unexpectedly

Highland Community College head football coach Jared Powers died unexpectedly on Saturday. 

Powers joined the Scotties as head coach before this past season after spending the previous two years at Mississippi Delta Community College and Mississippi Valley State University as an offensive coordinator. 

Powers had coaching experience at nearly every level of football from high school all the way to FBS Division-I. 

He was an offensive lineman during his college years and played for both William Jewell and Ferrum College in Virginia. 

The Scotties this past season finished 2-8 overall and 0-6 in conference play.
