Jefferson County North Takes Third Place at the 2022 Class 2A State Volleyball Championships

Smith Center def. Jefferson County North 25-16, 25-12

The first set saw a bunch of small runs for both teams as they went back-and-forth with Smith Center leading the whole way. It was a late run at the end by the Lady Red and a couple of controversial deflection calls that helped Smith Center past Jefferson County North 25-16. Smith Center got off to a good start with an early 7-2 lead and was able to keep it as the Lady Red cruised to a 25-12 two-set victory.

Jefferson County North def. Inman 25-18, 25-22

JCN and Inman went back-and-fort before being tied 15-15. That was when the Chargers were able to string four points together to go up 19-15. From there, they took care of business and won the set 25-18. JCN got off to a fast start in set two leading 8-3 before Inman called a timeout. Inman kept it close in the middle of the set with the Toutons getting into a rhythm. However, the Chargers were able to pull away late in the set to secure third place.
