Nemaha Central Volleyball Headed Back to 3A State

3A State – Information

For the fifth time in the last six seasons the Nemaha Central volleyball team is headed to the Class 3A State Tournament in Hutchinson following a sub-state championship Saturday at Sabetha.

The Thunder were dominant from start to finish winning their opening round match over Sabetha 25-22 and 25-11 before taking down Rossville in the semifinals 29-27 and 25-14.

Nemaha Central then in the championship match got Hiawatha who had only three losses on the season coming in, but the Thunder made quick work of the Redhawks winning 25-20 and 25-11.

Nemaha Central now moves on to the 3A State Tournament next week in Hutchinson with a 36-6 record and earned the No. 7 seed.

The Thunder will have three pool play matches against Cheney at 9:30 a.m., Heritage Christian at 10:30 a.m., and Goodland at 6:30 p.m. with all three matches live on 103.9 KNZA.
