Sabetha Invitational – Results

Area high school volleyball teams continued their seasons Saturday at the Sabetha Invitational and it was the host Lady Jays who claimed their home tournament championship.

Sabetha reached the title match by going 3-0 in pool play with wins over St. Mary’s, Hiawatha, and Wamego before taking down Perry Lecompton in the semifinals and Nemaha Central in the championship.

As to Nemaha Central the Thunder went 3-0 pool play with wins over Perry Lecompton, Marysville, and Pleasant Ridge while beating Wamego in the semifinals.

With Perry Lecompton’s loss to Sabetha in the semifinals the Lady Kaws fell to Wamego in the third-place match to finish the day 2-3.

As to other area teams competing at Sabetha on Saturday Hiawatha went 1-3 with their lone win over Pleasant Ridge who failed to pick up a victory on the day.
