Valley Heights Volleyball Finishes Second at Axtell Invitational

Area high school volleyball teams continued their seasons Saturday competing at the Axtell Invitational and the best area finish came from Valley Heights who finished second with a 4-1 record on the day.

The Mustangs opened the tournament by going 3-0 in pool play with two-set wins over Linn, Lourdes Central and Falls City Sacred Heart before beating Frankfort in the semifinals and falling to Diller-Odell in the championship.

The next best finish from an area team came from Frankfort who took fourth with a 1-4 record on the day after falling to Falls City Sacred Heart in the third-place match.

Wetmore also finished fifth going 2-3 falling to Lourdes Central in the fifth place match, while Linn beat Axtell to take seventh and finish 1-4.
