Sabetha Golf Takes Top Spot at Marysville Invitational

After winning a state championship last season the Sabetha golf team had high expectations heading into this year, but the Bluejays have picked up right where they left off which included a win at the Marysville Invitational Friday afternoon.

Sabetha won the team title behind four top 10 finishers, led by Jesse Burger who won the meet shooting a 76 while David Pierson finished third with a 79. The Bluejays also had Marcus Funk take fifth carding an 81, while Carson Ukele took eighth with an 85.

The only other area team at the Marysville Invite was Nemaha Central, and the Thunder had just Eric Hammes finish 10th shooting an 86.
