Sabetha Golf Takes Second to Lead Area Performances at Nemaha Central Invite

It was another windy day of golf action Thursday afternoon at the Nemaha Central Invitational and the best area team finish came from Sabetha who took second, one stroke behind the meet winner Wamego.

The Bluejays finished with four guys inside of the top 10, led by Jess Burger who won the meet by shooting a 76. Sabetha also had David Pierson finish sixth with an 84, Carson Ukele ninth with an 87 and Riley Lierz tenth with an 88.

Nemaha Central finished second as a team with two top 15 finishers with Eric Hammes earning 11th place and Dalton Schmelzle right behind in 12th.

The Frankfort Wildcats rounded out top area finishers with two guys inside of the top 10, led by Branden Bussman who finished fifth with an 83 while Aiden Gerstner took seventh shooting an 85.
