Atchison Girls Tennis Competes at Desoto Invite

Atchison lady Red tennis team faced some top flight competition on Saturday on the courts as they competed at the Desoto Invitational. 

Leading the Atchison performances was the tandem of Brianna Dove and Olivia Wabski who posted a 2-3 mark on the day in Doubles #1. After falling 2-8 to Lansing in the first match of the day the duo of Dove and Wabski came back with a pair of wins 8-0 and 8-5 over Leavenworth and Desoto. After a 3-8 loss to Bonner Springs Dove and Waski competed in the seventh place match and battled a team from Leavenworth falling 7-8 (3-7) to take eighth place. 

Also in doubles action the team of Delores Brant and Katie Hampton competed in Doubles #2 and finished 0-2 in action with losses to St. James Academy (0-8) and Ottawa (5-8). In singles competition on the day Jordan Fitkin competed in Singles #1 going 0-2 in action falling 0-8 to St. James Academy and 1-8 to Ottawa, while Hailey Lewis finished 0-2 in Singles #2 falling 0-8 to KC Christian and 1-8 to Lansing. 

The season continues for Atchison when the team travels to Hiawatha on Monday for a triangular meet that includes Sabetha.
