Atchison Girls Tennis Takes Second at Lafayette Tournament

The Atchison girl's tennis team as continued to get better all season and it showed in the latest action on the court at the Lafayette tournament as the lady Redmen picked up a second place team performance. 

Continuing to lead the way for the Atchison girls this season on the court as been the play of singles players Stormy Knott and Olivia Wabski and that was the case at the Lafayette tournament. Knott behind a 5-0 performance snagged first place in Singles #1 action picking up a 6-0 win over Leblond, while winning 6-2 over Hiawatha, Benton and Central and 6-3 over host Lafayette. 

Wabski notched a 3-2 day in Singles #2 action picking up a forfeit win and wins of 6-1 and 7-5 over Lafayette and LeBlond, while falling to Hiawatha and Central to take fourth place. 

In doubles action the duo of Brienna Dove and Reece Dulac with a 2-3 mark finished fourth snagging 6-0 wins over Hiawatha and host Lafayette in Doubles #2 action. In Doubles #1 the tandem of Kathy Tull and Alyxus Thomas posted a 1-4 day with a 7-5 win over Hiawatha. 

Atchison ladies are set to continue their season on Saturday at the Desoto Invitational.
