Falls City Sacred Heart Girls Place 3rd at State

(KLZA)-- The Falls City Sacred Heart Irish brought home the third place plaque from the Class D2 Girls State Basketball Tournament on Saturday. 

The Irish defeated Sandhills – Thedford 55-36 to improve their season record to 26-2. 

Lexi Barnes scored 15 to led the Irish with Maggie Goltz and Jade Hill also scoring in double figures for the Irish.

Wynot won the D2 State Title with a 41-40 triumph over St. Mary’s.

Wynot has won five of the last six D2 State Titles. The Sacred Heart girls stopped the title run in 2015.
