Former Nemaha Central Track & Field Star, Shaylyn Stallbaumer Signs Letter of Intent With KU

My athletes strive to compete at the college level after their high school careers are done but not many get to do it at the Division I level. Former Nemaha Central Thunder track and field star, Shaylyn Stallbaumer gets to continue her track and field career at the Division I level as she has signed a letter of intent with the University of Kansas to throw the javelin.

Stallbaumer closed out her high school career with Nemaha Central by laying claim to a State championship in Class 3A in the javelin back in May as she posted a toss of 143'09, while also bring home the bronze in the shotput and helping the Nemaha Central girls track team finish fourth at State in 3A. Shaylyn qualified for State in the javelin all four years in her high school career, winning the State title as a senior after taking second as a junior, third as a sophomore and finishing 13th as a freshman. As a junior she also took third at State in the shot put.

She will be joining a track program in KU that has been ranked the past few years a top program in the nation.
