Pawnee City Wins Falls City Volleyball Tournament

 Pawnee City won the title in the Falls City Volleyball Invitational Tournament Satuday. 

The Indians swept Palmyra in two games (25-18, 25-22) in the championship match Saturday afternoon.

Diller-Odell defeated Falls City in two games (25-19, 25-18) in the third place match. Sidney, Iowa, downed Fairbury in two games (25-22, 25-17) for fifth place, and Sterling beat Tri-County, also in two games (25-12, 25-15), for seventh place.

First round matches Saturday morning saw Diller-Odell defeat Tri-County, Pawnee City defeat Sidney, Palmyra defeat Fairbury, and Falls City defeat Sterling.

In the semi-finals, Pawnee City came back to defeat Diller-Odell, 2-1, after Diller-Odell won the first game. Palmyra got by Falls City 2-1 (25-21, 24-26, 25-22) in the other semi-final.

Sidney beat Tri-County and Fairbury downed Sterling in the consolation semi-final matches.
