Falls City Girls' Cross Country Team Breaks into Top 10; Boys Receiving Votes

(KTNC)--A strong start to the season has propelled the Falls City High School Cross Country girls' cross country team into the state rankings, while the boys' team is just outside a top ranking.
 In the latest Class C rankings, as voted on by Nebraska Cross Country coaches, the Falls City girls’ are tied for 9th, along with Chadron, with 18 points.
 The boys’ team is among teams receiving votes.
 Columbus Scotus, Sidney, and Cozad have the top three girls and boys Cross Country teams in this week’s rankings.
 Syracuse is also receiving votes in both girls’ and boys’ rankings this week.
 The Tigers ran well last week at the Fairbury Invitational. The girls finished 4th and had two top 20 finishers earn medals. The boys had their highest team finish in several seasons, placing third, with Kyle Leafty placing second individually.
 Falls City looks to continue its cross country success Thursday at the Hiawatha Invitational.
