Mound City Football Opens with Shutout Victory

(KLZA)-- Mound City senior Hayden Marrs led the Panthers to a 46-0 victory over East Atchison Friday night. It was the season opening broadcast on SUNNY 101.3.

On offense Marrs hit 4 of 5 pass attempts for 70 yards and 2 touchdowns.  He also ran 7 times for 59 yards and a score.

Marrs most impressive plays may have been on defense where the 2013 All-State defensive back picked off 3 pass attempts by the Wolves returning one for 51 yards and a score.

Kiler Miles had 86 yards rushing and a score and freshman Dylon Faller picked up 57 yards and a scored on 11 carries.  

East Atchison had several players dinged during the game.  Blaine Lambert picked up 40 yards rushing in the first half before leaving the game.
