Falls City Will Host 16-Under State Softball Tournament

(KLZA)-- Falls City will host the Nebraska 16 & Under Fast Pitch State Softball Tournament this weekend.  The Travelers will be the host team in the 12-team field.

The Fiedler Ball Complex will host the tournament utilizing the F&M Bank Field and the Hartman Field.

Tournament action begin Friday afternoon July 4th with Todd’s Feed taking on the Flames and the Blue Springs Lightning playing the Creighton Thunder. The Falls City Travelers will begin play at 4:30 p-m Friday on the F&M Field against the winner of the Blue Springs vs. Creighton game.

Also in the field is Ponca which will play the Todd’s Feed vs. Flames winner at 4:30 Friday. 

The Blast will take on Jackson at 2:45 p-m  with the winner advancing 

to take on the O’Neill Irish at 6:15 p-m. The Tecumseh 16 squad will take 

on Fairbury Elite at 2:45 p-m.  The winner of this game will play at 6:15 p-m 

against Emerson. 

Action will resume Saturday morning at 9 a-m and will continue 

throughout the day and evening.  The championship game is scheduled for

2:15 p-m Sunday with a second title game at 4 p-m if needed.
