Benedictine Football Holds Interesting Spring Game

04/27/2014 5:02 PM | Local Sports | Tom Kautz

An outstanding crowd braved stormy weather early in the afternoon, but the rains halted and the Ravens put on an entertaining 2014 Spring Football Game.  After dozens of athletes got a chance to show their talents, the Black team came away with a 16-14 win over the White team.

The Ravens have a lot of quality players to replace who have graduated from last years group, and there were statements made by some of the athletes looking to fill those spots.

Transfer quarterback Kyle Harmyk (6'5", 195, Alabama A&M) got the start, but it was two quarterbacks who have come up through the program who showed the firepower.  Nico Ramirez (5'11", 175, Murphy TX) came in to throw two touchdown passes.  Justin Dunford (6'4", 215, Jr., Victorville, CA) caught one.  Keenan Kruger (6'2", 189, JR< Silver Lake, KS) threw the other TD pass to tight end Jerome Roehm (6'6", 226, Soph, Hutchinson, KS).

The BC Spring game may not have answered all the Ravens questions for next fall, but it did provide some entertainment, a chance for old friends to gather and talk football, and an opportunity for some future gridiron stars to shine.
