Heart Falls City Sacred Heart and Sterling Girls State Tournament Action on SUNNY 101.3

 (KLZA) -- SUNNY 101.3 will bring you coverage of the Nebraska Girls State Basketball Tournament this week.

Coverage begins Thursday morning at 9 a-m when top seed Falls City Sacred Heart (25-2) plays Wauneta-Palisade (17-8) at Lincoln Southwest High School.  Pre-game coverage will begin about 8:40 a-m.  

SUNNY 101.3 will also be covering the Sterling Jets who qualified with a wildcard berth.  The Jets are seeded third in the tournament at 18-7 and will take on 6th seed Stuart, a team that is 17-8.  The Jets play their opener at Lincoln North  Star High School.

An Irish win in the opener would send them to semi-final round action Friday night at 7 p-m.  If the Jets win Thursday,  they play Friday night at 8:45 p-m.  The semi-finals are at the Devaney Sports Center.

If either, or both teams advance to the title game, it will be played at 8:30 p-m Saturday evening at the Pinnacle Bank Arena.  A third place game would be played Saturday at 2 p-m at North Star at 2 p-m.
