Falls City Sacred Heart Boys Win Conference Tournament

 The Falls City Sacred Heart boys basketball team won the Pioneer Conference tournament championship  Saturday night with a 50-45 win over Lourdes Central Catholic of Nebraska City.  

Class D2 top ranked Sacred Heart was led by Chaz Dunn with 19 points in the game.  Colin Niemeyer added a dozen and Austin malone scored 6 of his 8 in the fourth quarter. With the win the Irish improve to 19-2 on the season.

The Knights are ranked 6th in class D1 and drop to 15-5 with the loss.  Aaron Miller tallied 15 points in the game.  Marco Fabietti and Noah Vasa each had 8 for the Knights.

The girls title was won by Class D1, second ranked Friend.  the Bulldogs are 20-1 on the season.  Friend defeated tope ranked Falls City Sacred Heart 54-48 for the championship.  The Irish are now 20-2 on the season.

Jenny Lawver and Taylor Menke scored 15 apiece to pace Friend.  

Abby Magdanz led the Irish with 17 points.
