Bobcat Kicker - Punter Earns HAAC Conference Award

Peru State Kicker/Punter Greg Conry was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) Special Teams Player of the Week. Conry joined Benedictine College running back Cameron Fore and Baker University linebacker Darrick Smith, who were chosen as the HAAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the week (POW) respectively, on Monday afternoon.

Peru State remained one game out of first place in the conference after a thrilling double-overtime win over MidAmerica Nazarene University thanks in part to the right leg of Conry. A sophomore from Harlan, Iowa, Conry hit a pair of field goals, including the game-winner from 24 yards to secure the victory for the Bobcats. He also hit six punts with a long of 39 yards and had one touchback in six kickoffs.

Conry also threw a completed pass near the end of regulation on a fake punt which went for 19 yards and moved the Bobcats into MNU's territory before time expired.

With the honor, Conry becomes the second Bobcat football player to earn HAAC recognition this fall. Bobcat quarterback Tyler Audsley who has twice been named as the HAAC's Offensive POW.
