Nebraska High School District Softball Begins Thursday

District softball tournaments get underway for Nebraska High Schools on Thursday.  

In Class C,  Syracuse will host the Class C District 1 tournament.

Southern is the top seed with a 19-4 mark on the season.  The Raiders will open play at 11:45 a-m Thursday against the winner of the 10 a-m game between 4th seed Wilber-Clatonia and #5 seed Freeman.

Falls City is the 2nd seed at 16-10 and will take on #7 seed Johnson County Central (3-16) at 11:45 a-m.  Syracuse is the 3rd seed at 11-10 and takes on #6 seed Conestoga ( 8-17) at 10 a-m.  

The Falls City / JCC winner will play at 1:30,  against the winner of the Syracuse – Conestoga winner.  

Action will continue Thursday afternoon and day two action begins at noon on Friday.

Auburn will host the Class B district 1 tournament. Norris is the top seed in the district.  The Auburn / HTRS co-op team is the 5th seed at 9-13 and will open play at 1 p-m against 4th seed Plattsmouth.  The winner will take on top seed Norris at 3 p-m. 

3rd seed Waverly will open at 11 a-m against #6 seed Plattview and #2 seed Gretna at 11-10 will take on #7 seed Nebraska City.  The Pioneers look for their first victory of the season.  Action at Auburn continues Thursday afternoon and will wrap up Friday.
